Danny Boy ist eine herzzerreißende Air aus Irland, die auch als “Derry Air” oder “Londonderry Air” is a heartbreaking air from Ireland, also known as "Derry Air" or "Londonderry Air". The song was first printed in 1855, but is probably older. The lyrics are about Danny, who has to go to war, and his mother, who wants him to come home again. 

The arrangement poignantly depicts the tender as well as passionate emotional world of the farewell with gentle sustained notes, richly ornamented melody lines and a brilliant final sound.
